What does an IT consultant do for a small business?
An IT consultant looks at how your business uses technology and tells you what to change. For a small business, that usually means checking Microsoft 365, security, backups and devices, then agreeing a short list of priorities and a budget.
What is a virtual IT director?
A virtual IT director is a part-time IT lead you don’t have to employ. Our monthly IT adviser plan covers planning, budgets, supplier advice and regular reviews, from a team that knows your setup.
How much does IT consultancy cost?
The Business Technology Review is free. After that, we quote for the monthly IT adviser plan once we know your setup. One-off consultancy is priced by the day or by the project, and you’ll have the quote before any work starts.
Can you carry out an IT audit?
Yes. An IT audit is one of our one-off consultancy projects. We look at your devices, accounts, licences, security and backups, then talk you through the risks and what to fix first.
Do you also do the work you recommend?
Yes, if you’d like us to. We set up Microsoft 365, security, backups and devices, and can look after them with our managed IT services. The advice is yours to use with any supplier.
How do I choose an IT consultancy in Scotland?
When you compare IT service providers, look for a team that explains things in plain English, has worked with businesses like yours, and can do the work as well as advise on it. Ask what you’ll get after the first meeting, and who you’ll deal with day to day.
Do you work with businesses outside Fife?
Yes. We’re based in Dunfermline and work on site across Fife and Central Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk and Dundee. Reviews and advice work well online too, so we help businesses further afield as well.
