01 · THE CHALLENGE

Amorist needed a website that matched the atmosphere of the venue and promoted both halves of the business: the rooms upstairs and the bistro bar downstairs.

Amorist is a boutique hotel and Mediterranean bistro bar in the heart of Dunfermline, with Classic, Superior, Family and Deluxe rooms, live music and private events. The team had a reference site they loved for its mood and confidence, so we set out to capture that feel in a design of Amorist’s own. Three priorities shaped everything:

  • Hotel bookings come first. Every page needed a clear route to book a room.
  • Be found in Dunfermline. The site had to work hard in local search, from “hotels in Dunfermline” to “afternoon tea Dunfermline”.
  • Easy for the team to run. Events and offers had to be simple to add, and look after themselves.
02 · WHAT WE DID
  • A homepage with three ways to book from the top: a room, a table, or afternoon tea and brunch
  • A booking bar that stays within thumb’s reach as guests scroll on a phone
  • A Stay page that shows off every room and answers guests’ questions before they book
  • An Eat & Drink page for menus and serving times, with a “dinner downstairs, bed upstairs” prompt
  • Rooms, Offers and Events the team manages in one place, and nothing goes live without a photo
  • Events and offers that come down by themselves when they end, on the website and the TV
  • A TV display for the venue, run by a Raspberry Pi, with QR codes and a dashboard for the team
  • Hotel, Restaurant and Event structured data, FAQs and 301 redirects from the old pages
  • A look drawn from the venue: aubergine, wine, brass and blush on warm cream
TECHNOLOGIES USED
  • Bricks Builder and Core Framework for the design and build
  • JetEngine for the rooms, offers and events content types and fields
  • Rank Math Pro for titles, descriptions, structured data, redirects and sitemaps
  • Custom PHP and CSS for expiring events and offers, the slide image rules and the TV display
  • Raspberry Pi running Chromium in kiosk mode, managed with Raspberry Pi Connect
  • Google Analytics campaign tracking for QR scans
  • SureCookie cookie consent, styled to match the brand
  • 20i hosting with StackCache for fast page loads
  • Integrations with the hotel’s booking engine and the bistro’s reservation system

Yes. We connect your site to your booking engine and make booking the clearest action on every page, so guests can book direct without hunting for the button.

Yes. We build websites for businesses across Fife and Scotland. For Amorist, we built menus, table booking, events and local SEO into one site.

Yes. We build the content areas around how your team works. At Amorist, events and offers are added in WordPress, and they remove themselves from the website when they end.
